Outgrowing your aggregator
Your BNG, your contention, your customers.Providers with enough services that running their own network makes sense.
Sound familiar?
- You're paying margin on a network you can't tune.
- Contention and speed tiers are someone else's decision.
- Your customers sit on the aggregator's addresses.
How it works
Design it with us
BNG, RADIUS, addressing and routing, planned with our engineers.
Take a Layer 2 handoff
A 10G LR or 100G LR / LR4 NNI at Equinix SY1–SY4.
Bring your addressing
Your own ranges, your own policy, on your own BNG.
Pilot a batch
No minimum service count. Agree a cutover and rollback plan, then move a pilot batch.
Move the rest
Batch by batch, with nbn tests to check each one.
Who runs what
Layer 2 means the network behaviour is yours. The access and aggregation are ours.
You run
- Your BNG, authentication and addressing; CGNAT if your design uses it
- Your addressing and routing
- Your shaping and contention policy within the purchased access profiles and capacity
- Billing and first-line support
We run
- nbn aggregation and ordering
- The NNI handoff to your network
- nbn tests, monitoring and alerts
- Transit and colocation, if you want them
- Engineering help when you need it
The handoff
- Port
- 10GBASE-LR, 100GBASE-LR1 or 100GBASE-LR4
- Fibre
- Single-mode, duplex LC
- Where
- Equinix SY1–SY4
- Services
- Delivered with the service identifiers in your order, such as VLAN tags
Regional and fixed-wireless operators
Your towers cover the valley. nbn fills the addresses your radios can't reach, under your brand, with transit and a rack in Sydney to complete the picture.

What you'll use
- nbn connectivitynbn across access technologies, subject to address and product qualification; delivered at Layer 2 or terminated by us at Layer 3.
- IP transitFull-table IPv4 and IPv6 transit from AS152590, handed off in Sydney.
- ColocationSpace for your equipment next to the network: shared colocation, or quarter to full racks built to design.
- Network engineeringArchitecture, BGP, migrations and troubleshooting, when you need another engineer.
What stays with you
- Your BNG, authentication and addressing, including CGNAT if your design uses it
- Your customer policy and speed tiers
- Your obligations as a retail provider
Questions
Where do we take the handoff?
Equinix SY1–SY4, on single-mode fibre.
Can we move gradually?
Yes. Start with a pilot batch under an agreed migration design, then move the remainder. Capacity, any commitments, interruptions and rollback arrangements are confirmed before ordering.
Do we need our own BNG?
Yes. Layer 2 means you terminate the service. We can help you design it.
Can we still use your transit and colocation?
Yes. Take a rack next to the NNI and transit on the same network.
